Anna & Elena Balbusso, twins from Italy, live and work in Milan. Since 1994, after graduating at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, they have worked as editorial and advertising illustrators freelance for leading publishers and numerous Italian and European companies. In 1998 the American magazine "Print European Regional Design Annual" awarded them its Certificate of Design Excellent. They have illustrated various children's books and classic novels published by Einaudi Children, El Editions, Black Cat Publishing, Arka Editions, PBM Group, Cartacanta. Their artwork has featured in many group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. They have represented Italy at The Biennial of Illustration Bratislava BIBI 1999 and 2001, at the BWI at the Hiroko Mori & Stays Museum in Japan, and took part in the "Matite italiane" exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair 2000. They have contributed their work to the Abitare Magazine and Corriere Della Sera journal. In 2003 they began to work in France for many companies and magazines. They work as illustrators for the "MADAME FIGARO" magazine, supplement of "LE FIGARO" journal. In 2005 they have exhibited their work at the "Illustrators Exhibition" at Children's Book Fair in Bologna and they have held the first one-man show dedicated entirely to their artwork at the international "53° Bancarella Literary Award" (Pontremoli, It).
